Foundations must be engineered to the filled tank load, bunding sized to containment requirements, tanks fabricated and erected to code, pipework tied in, and the whole facility protected by a fire system that Sharjah Civil Defence will certify. Our tank farm scope
Storage tank fabrication and erection for petrochemical, fuel and chemical service. Tank foundations, ring beams and bunded containment areas. Interconnecting pipework and pipe racks. Pumping and transfer systems. Fire protection including foam and deluge systems where the stored product requires it, designed and installed by Sharjah Civil Defence approved Midas Electromechanical Contracting [link to midasec.com]. The fire system is the part that stops projects
Storage facilities are classified by what is inside them. A tank farm holding lubricants and one holding flammable solvents face very different Civil Defence requirements, different pump capacities and different containment rules. Getting that classification right at design stage, rather than discovering it at inspection, is the single biggest schedule risk on a tank farm project. Because our fire systems team sits inside the group, that classification is settled before the foundations are designed.
